Green Candidate for Edgewood Borough Council
Supports Edgewood doing its part in managing climate change and reducing pollution. Supports exploring and encouraging more use of renewable sources of energy in our municipal buidings and our local businesses and residences. Supports working with state and federal governments and grants to implement a Green New Deal.
Supports smoother public transit access and better coordination of pedestrian, vehicle and bicycle traffic in Edgewood and surrounding areas.
Supports including all residents in decision-making processes as much as possible, and being fully transparent. Supports Edgewood opting into a future county-wide civilian police review board.

Tara Yaney has enjoyed living in Edgewood for 6 years and sees serving as borough council member as a way to give back to the community. She is an avid bicyclist and ultimate frisbee player. When not active outdoors, Tara is a local musician, and plays flute with the Johnstown and Westmoreland Symphony Orchestras. She directs the Pittsburgh Concert Orchestra Junior Wind Ensemble and she also teaches many private students in the area. Tara has a Bachelors' degree in music from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelors' degree in physics from the University of Pennsylvania.
